Sisters, And The Bonds of Love

Sometimes I forget to say what moves me the most about our home.  When I am looking through pictures, I notice most faces, and connections.  I had a dream before I started Shishur Sevay.  I was near a pond, with children there, a very quiet place, and I thought to myself, “It’s a place where a sister can bring her little sister and care for her.”  That was a dream.  This is Shishur Sevay:

Sanjana, our newest little sister, sitting on her own (well, until she topples over)

Shishur Sevay, fulfilling the meaning of love of each other.  We are a family.  Apparently we are still a growing family!  It was a wonderful dream I had that night, and a more wonderful journey that makes it real.

The love and sisterhood that your girls demonstrate is truly an inspiration. I share your story with everyone. You have found your true mission in life and are fulfilling it…how wonderfully rewarding for you and the girls. I am so proud of the work you are doing Michelle. The faces of the girls in these pictures are priceless and speak more than a million words. Thank you for sharing your journey.
God bless you all – Pat

Over my lifetime I have seen many fulfill their dreams and I am happy for them: however, in your case your dream involved human beings and their welfare. It involved the caring of their very souls in need. I am reminded of the beautiful remarks in my faith by Jesus who said, “As you do these to the least of these, you do it unto me.” It is easy to love and serve the beautiful, the healthy, and the intelligent and promising. But for me, the real blessing is in finding the pearl in the shell, the heart among the hurting, and the purest unconditional love there is when it is reciprocated between an adult caregiver and her charge. God Bless you Michelle. I continue to marvel at the path my love and friendship with Jerry Galloway has taken: it led me to you and our friendship. God Bless.
